by Ron Bartels, Ph.D. Pamela Fay Felkins Case Plays Center Stage The County Fair is now over in Faulkner County. The attendance was high. People were concerned about a lot of what has been happening in politics since 2006, when the last sea change in politics began to occur. That sea change peeked in 2008 with the election of Barack Obama. Unknowingly, voters have been increasingly frustrated with the politicos they’ve elected. Bush frustrated the voters also. Meanwhile, while rapt attention has been paid on politics at the national level, government has been breaking down at the local level also. Such a breakdown got worse in November 2006 in the Faulkner County Sheriff’s race, when both candidates promised to send the evidence in the Pamela Faye Felkins case to the crime lab should they win. However, the winner in the 2006 sheriff’s race, Karl Byrd, failed to keep his word. In January of 2007, when the winner in the Faulkner County sheriff’s race, Karl Byrd, took office, the former head of the multi-agency task force walked in to congratulate newly elected sheriff Karl Byrd, asked when the evidence was going to be sent to the crime lab now that he [...]

by Ron Bartels, Ph.D. Then buy your taxes back with your vote. The undersigned citizens petition the United States Senate and House of Representatives to suspend all payroll and income taxes, including employer contributions, for one year, and direct employers to remit their share to the employees who earn them. A tax vacation would create the following benefits: 1. Stimulate the economy at its citizen foundation where consumption and savings will promote production and job creation. 2. Eliminate compliance and preparation costs for individuals and businesses. 3. Halt service and enforcement costs for government. 4. Discourage credit expansion and deficit spending to support at great citizen expense the following unnecessary burdens: A. Aggressive worldwide military commitments well in excess of our nation’s defensive needs, including two counter-productive wars in Iraq and Afghanistan; occupations in Europe, Japan, and Korea long after hostilities there have ceased; and more than 700 military bases in foreign lands. B. Bailouts, subsidies, and protections for privileged private corporations, trusts, and associations. 5. Encourage the sale of government businesses that compete against U.S. citizens. These burdensome liabilities require periodic bailouts, regular subsidies, and anti-competitive protections at a net loss to the public. 6. Facilitate and help fund [...]

by Ron Bartels, Ph.D. Liberal Judge Susan Bolton blocked officers, under Arizona SB 1070, from making warrantless arrests of suspected illegal immigrants for crimes that can lead to deportation. American Citizens are arrested every day without warrants. Liberal Judge Susan Bolton also granted illegal immigrants in Arizona special rights they don’t have in any other State including California. In all other States, Federal law says that non-citizens must carry their personal documents on their person. While this is seldom enforced, it is the law. Liberal Judge Susan Bolton blocked the Arizona copy of the Federal law, which required that immigrants carry their immigration papers. In another aspect of her ruling, Liberal Judge Susan Bolton struck down the law, which banned illegal immigrants from soliciting employment in public places. Therefore, illegal immigrants where granted a right that only legal immigrants and citizens have. In effect, Liberal Judge Susan Bolton granted conditional citizenship rights to illegal immigrants. It is time to clean house and require judges to follow the Constitution.

by Ron Bartels, Ph.D. …But Will It Produce Results or Backfire? Just a small bit of history. There were two (2) depressions in the 20′s, not one as selective historians discuss. The first depression, in 1920 was severe and the government stayed away from any intervention at all. The second one began in 1929 and lasted for years on end as the government intervened just they are doing today. Therefore it is drawing significant concern from many economists who think history may repeat. The Obama Administration has launched a new Website called FinancialStability.gov and have made quite a few press releases about it. However, as of this date, very little is on the site. Here is what we found: Back on Tuesday, February 10th, 2010, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner outlined a comprehensive plan to restore stability to our financial system. In the address, Secretary Geithner discussed the Obama Administration’s strategy to strengthen our economy by getting credit flowing again to families and businesses, while imposing new measures and conditions to strengthen accountability, oversight and transparency in how taxpayer dollars are spent. And Secretary Geithner explained how the financial stability plan will be critical in supporting an effective and lasting economic [...]

By Damian D Pitts …to Build Great Teams and Performance For Organizations When most people hear the phrase “organizational politics,” they react very negatively. They see politics in the workplace as forming clicks and another way to keep those who go against the status quo labeled as an outsider. People also think that it’s a toxic dynamic that allows manipulative behaviors for people to get what they want by stepping on their co-workers’ backs. But not every instance of workplace politicking is a selfish maneuver to win. The text “Building Great Teams: Charting the Path of Organizational Politics” (Book Surge, 2007) takes you inside one of the greatest team building organizations in the world, the United States Marine Corps, to examine and discover the strategies that business leaders must be willing to learn, use and employ for building ordinary groups into extraordinary teams; leading the right team of commandos who understand what it takes to win on the business battlefield and defeat workplace politics using warfare as the key to experience a significant win. The strategies within the text defines workplace and office politics as “the path to smart growth…using the power to accelerate the careers [...]

By Janet Chua Understanding The New Air Supported Mattresses Things and events such as a friend or a relative coming to visit, or your kid asking you to have her friends over for a sleep over usually come to us unexpectedly. You’ll never know when those kinds of things will happen, so it’s best if you are always prepared. Having a queen air mattress is a convenient and handy solution for you to stay prepared for these kinds of events. If you are a person who loves to sleep outdoors, then you have more reasons to get one of those big and comfortable air mattresses. Don’t think that it’s going to be just one household item that you will stock in your garage for months, waiting for the next opportunity to be used. I’m sure it will prove itself to be an extremely useful purchase. For instance, as much as you love nature and the wild, no one fancies sleeping inside a tent on hard and rough ground, more so after a long day of trailing in the woods or mountains. A good queen air mattress will give you something to look forward to at the end of the [...]

Michael D. Wild What You Really Need To Know While the nation still debates health care reform, a larger problem faces Americans. Seventy-eight percent of Americans own a home and fifty-five percent of Americans have minor children living at home, yet less than half of the country has even executed a will, much less the other documents that make up a complete estate plan. Some of us may need long-term health care and some of us might not but the only two certainties in this life are death and taxes. While we at Wild Felice & Pardo are unable to help you live forever, we are very good at limiting the amount of taxes your family will have to pay after you are gone. Did you know that the estate tax threshold could be as low as $1 million in 2011 and the estate tax could be as high as 55%? $1 million seems like a lot of money but when you consider that the amount of life insurance you have is added to your estate immediately upon death, $1million can quickly sneak up on you. You work your whole life earning a wage. The government taxes that [...]

Let me try a few on for size for you. Credit card (“surely I didn’t spend so much?!”) Root canal (“It’s really going to hurt, isn’t it”) Hang over (“why did I drink all that champagne?”) It’s over (“I can’t believe that creep broke up with me when I did so much for him!”) Or this one. Breast cancer. Cancer is not particular about how it selects its victims. There’s no protocol sheet or democratic voting system. It doesn’t base its assessment on looks, age, wealth or how well you did in your final English exam. It pops on a blindfold, spins itself around and whoever it next touches it shrieks “you’re it” and that’s it.
by Howard Jacobs How To Blame Someone or Something Else Every President has a unique style of speaking and dealing with issues. Barack Obama recently gave his first State of the Union address. In listening to him speak about all the problems the country faces in 2010, it brought to mind the early days of the presidency of George Bush and his early speeches when he had to deal with the worst attack against the United States homeland in its history and the prospect of an uncertain future where the seemingly invulnerable United States was now facing the very real possibility of additional attacks. What if George Bush’s style was more like the style of Barack Obama? What if the two Presidents could be merged and you could create a new President by the name of George W.H. Obama. It is early 2002. Ladies and gentlemen, the President of the United States… President George Obama: Mr. Speaker, Mr. Vice President, members of Congress, distinguished guests, and fellow citizens: America this evening is a nation called to great responsibilities.
by Michael Walsh The achievements of Britain’s finest newspaper columnists were for the first time recognized at the Comments Award ceremony last October. Sir Christopher Meyer, former chairman of the Press Complaints Commission, chaired the awards’ debut. The categories included political, financial, environment, culture and media, with other awards included. As might be expected newspaper columnists have their fans and their cynics. Caustic comment is often expressed by personalities and services that occasionally fall victim to the hack’s acid-tongued critique. Speaking up for columnists Peter Wilby of the Media Guardian section recognizes a threat from the Internet. Mounting a defense he says: “Only a tiny minority of bloggers know their stuff and even if they do it is poorly expressed.” He goes on to point out that newspapers are uniquely placed to bring truly knowledgeable comment to a mass audience. Columnists; gossip and sports writers; financial columnists occupy some of the most powerful positions in the media. They not only inform; more importantly they influence. A columnist can make or break careers; influence markets, mobilize opinion, change fashion and start trends. The power of their pens can stop and start wars. The American columnist, Walter Lippmann, was [...]

by Ron Bartels, Ph.D. Snyder Not Representing, but Resisting His Constituents Vic Snyder is failing to represent his constituents. Snyder’s track record is one of following the Liberal Dogma, precept by precept. Apparently he will vote for the destruction of the healthcare we already have in place, replacing it with a Government Run System that costs more money and delivers less healthcare. He could care less, it seems, if he get re-elected as he gets his luxury retirement and Congressional healthcare. See the attack ad which is an attempt to do one of two things or maybe both at the same time. Wake Up the Congressman and persuade him to change his mind. Wake up the electorate to how Snyder is ignoring their concerns.

by Ron Bartels, Ph.D. The Handwriting is “On The Wall” Gov. Rick Perry uttered some blunt, plain-spoken words about the Obama Administration Agenda on Wednesday in Midland, Texas saying, “This is an administration hell-bent on taking America towards a socialist country.” The Governor was referring to Federal the Alien Transfer and Exit Program, a program he has been talking about for more than a week. Perry explains the Obama Program as a plan where illegal immigrants who are captured in Arizona are sent to the small Texas town of Presidio and set free. “It’s a sign that the Obama administration is trying to punish Texas,” Gov. Rick Perry said, adding that members of the state’s congressional delegation, as well as his office, weren’t given any warning of the administration’s plans for Presidio.” Find more videos like this on Mywesttexas Chatter According to a story by the CBS affiliate in Odessa, Texas, illegal immigrants are returned by the Obama Administration to Mexico via secured buses. The station also reported, “last year 4,500 illegals were sent back through Presidio. Over 90 will be bused across this bridge 7 days a week.” In addition, Brandi Grissom of the Texas Tribune reported [...]
